Make a song and dance for charity!
Applications are closed, the timetable is set, but participant information is shown for reference below. All performers must comply with instructions given on the website, in any communication from the committee, or verbally on the day.
Are you a performer who would like to show us what you've got? We are now seeking performers for the arena for Hertford Carnival day 2019!
From 12pm to 5pm on Carnival Day there will be entertainment, including arena events, on the Castle lawn.

Performance slots are normally limited to 15 minutes, and a PA system is available if required.
There is no charge. We may even pay you if we think you will bring people in to the event!
Please note that any money raised will go to the designated charities.
What you offer to perform is up to you!

Important Details
Arena layout will only be confirmed on the day. However as a guide;

The arena size is approximately 15metres square.

All props for the act must be provided by the performer.

There will be a small backstage area but unfortunately no changing area.

Changeover times between acts will be as short as possible.

We will try to avoid placing you before or after similar acts, although please note this cannot be guaranteed.

We regret no animals (except by prior arrangement), and no pyrotechnics.

Neither alcohol nor drugs may be consumed or visible at any time during the performance.

All performances must be in good taste and suitable for young children.

Carnival Stewards may withdraw, at any time, any entrant who does not comply with the rules or is considered to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

All performers must comply with instructions given on the website, in any communication from the committee, or verbally on the day. The joining representative is responsible for ensuring all participants are aware of these instructions.

These guidelines are to ensure a safe and enjoyable day for all.
Children

Parents and guardians should be aware that photos will be taken of the entertainment, and that these photos may be used on the website, in the local paper, or in other media.

Sensible adult-to-child ratios must be adhered to at all times.

If you are applying on behalf of a school or youth organisation, please ensure this information is passed on.

Money raised
We want Hertford Carnival to benefit our local community, and charities have been selected to be the beneficiaries of monies raised on the day.
Any collections taken in the arena will go to the chosen charities.

If demand for performance participation is high, preference may be given to Hertford based groups or individuals. However applications from those further afield are welcome.

Hertford Carnival Committee reserves the right to refuse applications.

Hertford Carnival Committee reserves the right to amend the conditions or cancel this event without prior notice.

Confirmation of your entry is required to proceed/take part on the day.

The Committee’s decision is final.
